چکیده
The East Asian Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) Network (EAVN) is a rapidly evolving international VLBI array that currently promoted under joint efforts among China, Japan and Korea. EAVN aims at forming by combining large number of radio telescopes distributed over regions. After the combination Korean (KVN) Exploration Radio Astrometry (VERA) into KaVA, further expansion with in Asia actively promoted. Here we report first imaging results (at 22 43 GHz) bright sources obtained KaVA connected to Tianma 65-m Nanshan 26-m Telescopes China. To test performance for different sources, observed four active galactic nuclei (AGN) having brightness morphology. As result, confirmed Telescope (TMRT) significantly enhances overall sensitivity, factor 4 improvement baseline sensitivity 2 image dynamic range compared case only. addition (NSRT) doubled east-west angular resolution. With resulting high-dynamic-range, high-resolution images (KaVA+TMRT+NSRT), various fine-scale structures our targets, such as counter-jet M87, kink-like morphology 3C 273 jet weak emission other are successfully detected. This demonstrates powerful capability study AGN jets achieve science goals general. Ongoing will enhance resolution, detection frequency coverage network.

Combined VLBI- and X-ray Observations of Active Galactic Nuclei
Compact radio cores in radio-loud active galactic nuclei (AGNs) are classical targets of Very-Long-Baseline interferometric (VLBI) research. Until today little has been known about their X-ray properties in comparison to radio-quiet AGNs. Here, we present results from a systematic X-ray spectral survey of radio-loud AGNs. This study is based on a statistically complete sample of regularly monit...
متن کاملVLBI Surveys of Active Galactic Nuclei
A review is given on the current status and selected results from large VLBI surveys of compact extragalactic radio sources made between 13 cm and 3 mm wavelengths and covering the entire sky. More than 4200 objects are observed and imaged with dynamic ranges from a hundred to several thousand at (sub)parsec scales. Implications to the VSOP-2 project are discussed.
متن کاملJets in Active Galactic Nuclei
The jets of active galactic nuclei can carry a large fraction of the accreted power of the black-hole system into interstellar and even extragalactic space. They radiate profusely from radio to X-ray and γ-ray frequencies. In the most extreme cases, the outward flow speeds correspond to high Lorentz factors that can reach 40 or more. This chapter displays images at various wavebands as well as ...
متن کاملUltracompact jets in active galactic nuclei
We study the properties of ultracompact jets in several prominent radio sources (Cygnus A, 3C 309.1, 3C 345, 3C 395, 4C 39.25, and 1038+528A), using the frequency dependence of observed position of the optically thick jet core. Frequency dependent offsets of the core positions are used for calculating the luminosities, magnetic fields, and geometrical properties of the jets. Opacity effects are...
متن کاملRelativistic Jets in Active Galactic Nuclei
This review discusses the basic characteristics of the jets in active galactic nuclei (AGN). It concentrates on the highly relativistic variety found in blazars, since these are the closest cousins to the jets seen in some X-ray binaries (microquasars) and the collimated, ultra-fast flows inferred to exist in gamma ray bursts. The fastest AGN jets are gamma-ray bright, with flow Lorentz factors...
